Royal Holloway`s only a capella choir And society of the year 07/08

SUPRISE LEAVERS CONCERT

Much to the surprise of the university leavers amongst us a shock one off concert was performed for them and their friends and families tonight in Egham`s Baptist church. Having been convinced that they were off to Richmond to perform in a charity concert with other Choirs, meeting their friends and family in a supposed rehearsal was a real surprise for many members of the choir.

Once the shock of the event had warn off the leavers were treated to a rendition of `Amigos Para Siempre` by several members of the choir who are staying on next year and had been secretly rehearsing the song ready for the concert. The leavers then joined the choir and performed two sets of songs to their friends and family which, thanks to the wonderful acoustics of the hall and relaxed nature of the concert was amongst the best performances we have put on this year.

After the concert was over, and the audiences demands for an encore had been satisfied with a second performance of `Soul Man`, certificates were handed out, first to the outgoing committee and then to the leavers amongst us.

With the concert over the whole choir and many of their families went to the local pub and then on to the union for one final party before the end of the year.

Thanks to everyone who took part, and especially to all those people who will be leaving this year, ab- harm won`t be the same without you!
